About Yoga

The word yoga means to unite or harmonise, this means that the activity of yoga involves working towards a level where the activities of the mind and body can function together harmoniously. Most exercises tend focus on developing the superficial (close to the skin) muscles of the body and neglect flexibility training. Yoga, however focuses on a system of exercises aim to stretch, strengthen, tone and align the whole body. Yoga also goes beyond physical fitness and moves into mental fitness whereby it creates a state of mental calmness and emotional stability.
